Cuttack: In yet ghastly incident, miscreants allegedly gangraped a nine-year-old girl at Nemala area of Cuttack district late Thursday night while she was returning home from the Baliyatra fair.
According to information received from the police, two persons working with a drama group had called the minor on the pretext of giving her dancing lessons, Thursday night. However, when the girl was returning home they allegedly raped her and left her abandoned near a bush before fleeing the spot.
Meanwhile, after a frantic search, the family members of the girl found her unconscious under a tree and rushed her to Nischintakoili Community Health Centre (CHC). Doctors said the condition of the girl is stable and if required she will be shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital.
On being informed, Nemala police reached the spot. They have detained two persons allegedly involved in the gangrape and are interrogating them.
