Bhubaneswar, Oct 25: Panposh Sports Hostel finished third in the All India Oil Chhotgangpur Women’s hockey tournament beating NJMC Rourkela 4-1 in the third and fourth play-off match at Simdega, Jharkhand, Sunday. The eves from Orissa had lost to hosts Simdega XI 2-1 in the semifinals.
Orissa mess up start
Orissa messed up a good start and were dismissed for 281 on the second day of their four-day Plate Group B match against Railways in the U-23 CK Nayudu Trophy cricket tournament at Patiala, Sunday.
Resuming from the overnight score of 228 for the loss of five wickets, Orissa could add only 53 runs against some penetrative bowling by Ambikeswar Mishra (5/45). Priyotosh Paramanik (33, 216b, 4×4), Kameswar Barik (24, 35b, 4×4) and Debapriya Patnaik (20, 52b, 2×4) all got starts, but failed to convert them into big scores.
In reply, Railways were 161 for the loss of three wickets at stumps riding on a century-plus stand between openers A Sehrawat (53, 83b, 8×4, 1×6) and V Singh (56, 124b, 4×4). Anurag Prusty (2/43) bowled well for Orissa.

OBA election
Ashok Kumar Sahoo and Gyana Ranjan Parida were unanimously elected Sunday as the president and the secretary of the Orissa Basketball Association (OBA) during the body’s AGM at the OOA hall at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, Sunday. Other office bearers and council members were also elected for the next four years.
