Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance Directorate has arrested four government functionaries in separate bribery cases following three operations conducted Wednesday.
According to Vigilance sources, the accused include two health staffers from the CDMO office in Paralakhemundi, one health staffer from the Muniguda CHC in Rayagada district, and a junior clerk from the office of the BEO, Mahakalpara in Kendrapara district.
They were formally arrested Thursday and will be produced before the Vigilance courts.

In one operation, following the trap of clerk Jagdish Pattnaik and peon Niranjan Nayak, both from the CDMO office, Paralakhemundi, Vigilance teams carried out searches and recovered Rs 5,19,700 from Pattnaik’s office drawer and Rs 1.5 lakh from his government quarters in Paralakhemundi.
The seized cash is suspected to be bribe money.
Pattnaik is currently being interrogated to determine its exact source.
