Bhubaneswar: A two-day meeting of the Odisha BJP’s executive committee began in Kataka Saturday, with sources saying that it would firm up a three-month roadmap and discuss strategy for the urban local body and three-tier panchayat elections scheduled in March next year.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, his deputies KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, the party’s national general secretary Sunil Bansal, state in-charge Vijay Pal Singh Tomar and co-in-charge Lata Usendi were among the 400 functionaries and leaders who attended the meeting chaired by the BJP’s state unit president Manmohan Samal.
Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari said the meeting would discuss a 10-point agenda and strategise ways to consolidate the ruling party’s base ahead of the three-tier panchayat and urban local body elections.

“We will finalise our strategy for the elections in the two-day meeting,” he said.
Pujari said the party will review programmes of the Central and state governments, measure their success, identify shortcomings and decide on corrective steps.
