Bhubaneswar: Expressing dissatisfaction over the non-submission of utilisation certificates (UCs), the state government Thursday asked the urban local bodies (ULBs) to submit UCs to get grants including salaries.
Housing and Urban Development (H&UD) secretary G Mathivathanan has made this clear in his letter to municipal commissioners and executive officers of all municipalities and NACs. The secretary has made this directive as the Finance department and Accountant General, Orissa are pressing hard for submission of UCs.
“The necessity of submission of UCs needs no elaboration or explanation. It has been indicated to all the commissioners and EOs in the cluster-level review meetings. In spite of that the status of submission of issue by ULBs is not improving. It is now contemplated that no further funds including salary component of the ULBs will be released until the pending UCs are submitted.” Mathivathanan said in the letter, a copy of which available with Orissa POST.
