BHANJANAGAR: Ajit Pradhan, nephew of BJP’s Bhanjanagar Assembly constituency candidate Pradyumna Nayak, has been admitted to hospital after being attacked by a group of miscreants over alleged political rivalry.
He has sustained serious injuries and has been admitted to Bhanjanagar hospital.
According to sources, Ajit had a brawl with his attackers yesterday at Kulad during the campaign meeting of union minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Later he was attacked by the group.
Pradyumna has alleged the incident to have been prompted by local Sarpanch Tutu Pradhan. An FIR has also been lodged at Bhanjanagar police on this context.
The situation continues to remain tense as BJP supporters are agitated over the issue. They have warned to gherao the police station, if concrete action is not taken against the accused.
