Bhubaneswar, May 27: Third seed Chinmay Pradhan of Orissa beat eighth seed Jay Soni of Gujarat to enter the semifinals Wednesday of the All India Nationals men’s ranking tennis championship at Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh. Chinmay came from a set down to overcome Jay 3-6, 6-1, 6-1. With this victory, Chinmay exacted a sweet revenge against Joy to whom he had lost in Vishakhapatnam last week.
Earlier in the pre-quarterfinal match, Chinmay had beaten Ramakrishnan Rangaraju of Tamil Nadu 6-1, 6-4. In the first round match, he had got the better of his state mate and coach Santosh Kumar Mallik 6-4, 6-4.
