Koraput: Theatre troupe Nandanik Saturday observed ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’, a culminating campaign of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) in three blocks – Koraput, Jeypore and Semiliguda – of this district. Under the programme, National Flag was unfurled, ‘Maati Daan’ soil was placed in ‘Amrit Kalash’ and a pledge was taken.
This apart, the troupe members participated in the plantation programme and ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’, a campaign under the aegis of AKAM to encourage people to bring home the Tricolour and to hoist it to mark this year’s Independence Day. Nandanik also staged a patriotic street play on the occasion. The programme, with support from the Eastern Zonal Culture Centre, the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, was concluded with the recitation of the National Anthem.
