Bhubaneswar: Based on a complaint by three girls, the Commissionerate police Tuesday arrested a youth for reportedly cheating several women on the pretext of marriage.
The accused has been identified as Priyaranjan Naik from Daringbadi area of Kandhamal district. In their complaint, the girls accused Naik of keeping physical intimacy with them on false promises.
Priyaranjan was a Casanova in nature. He used to lure women by introducing himself as doctor, bank manager and government employee. He then managed to convince them to establish physical relationship and shot it using his mobile phone.
Later, he used the videos and pictures to blackmail the victims and extract money from them.
Based on complaint by the three girls, cops arrested the accused on the basis of phone recordings.
Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty said,” Basing on the complaint filed by three women, a case was registered and the accused was arrested”
On the other hand, the accused Priyaranjan refuted the allegations and said that he is being falsely implicated.
“This is a conspiracy against me. How can one person cheat so many women?” Priyaranjan said.
