Bhubaneswar: Ace sprinter Dutee Chand has landed in trouble over her alleged electoral campaign for Achyuta Samanta, BJD’s candidate for Kandhamal Lok Sabha seat.
A complaint against her has been filed with the Chief Electoral Officer. It accuses Dutee of using social media to campaign for Samanta.
“Dutee is a serving ambassador of the Commission. An ambassador shouldn’t do this. We will conduct an enquiry into it once we receive a formal complaint,” said the officer while adding that the Election Commission will only make its stand clear after the probe is over.
