Rourkela: The Odisha Police Thursday arrested four persons for allegedly raping two minor girls after offering them a lift on their motorcycle in Sundaragada district, officials said.
The accused were arrested based on the girls’ complaint at Biramitrapur police station in Sundaragada, Western Range DIG, Brijesh Rai, said.
The two minors, accompanied by their family members and villagers, had lodged a complaint Wednesday, alleging that they were sexually assaulted by the accused, police said.
The incident took place around 10 pm Monday when the girls were returning to their village after attending a cultural programme, they said.

The accused, who were known to them, reportedly offered the girls a lift and took them to a nearby forest and allegedly raped them, the officer said.
The girls have undergone a medical examination.
The accused will be produced before a local court Thursday, police said.
