Basta: A video featuring an elderly woman mercilessly beating her six-year-old grandson in absence of his parents has gone viral. The incident was reportedly recorded at Gangadharpur village under Basta block in Balasore district. The woman identified as Brundabati was with her grandson and seen trampling the kid’s legs under her feet; reprimanding him. Besides, she landed kicks on his thighs and face even when the child was wailing in pain. The parents of the child do not stay with him. They are working in Mumbai. The child was said to be subjected to repeated violence by his grandmother.
