Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre here Sunday said that the existing heatwave condition in the state is likely to continue over next 48-72 hours.
In the mid-day Sunday bulletin issued at 1:30pm, the centre said, “Maximum day temperature in the districts of interior Odisha is very likely to be above normal by 2-3 degrees Celcius during next three-four days”.
It further added, “Light to moderate rain or thundershower with gusty winds reaching 30-40 kmph along with lightning likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Gajapati, Ganjam, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Cuttack and Jajpur.”
Such weather conditions are likely to prevail between 2:00pm and 5:00 pm Sunday, the weatherman said while emphasizing that the remaining districts of the state will experience dry weather.
As for Sunday, Titilagarh recorded the highest day temperature at 44.6 degree Celcius. Capital Bhubaneswar was reasonably cooler at 36.4 degrees.
