Bhubaneswar: The supplies of commodities are likely to be affected in the second half of this month as the Odisha truck owners’ federation Wednesday extended its support to the indefinite strike across India called by the all India confederation of goods vehicle owners’ association (ACOGOA) from June 18.
General secretary of ACOGOA, Rajinder Singh, said here that the indefinite strike was in protest against the rising fuel prices and toll collection at various points. The ACOGOA would withdraw all vehicles from the roads sinceJune 18 as the Centre has “failed” to pay heed to the pleas of the truck operators, he said.
“We have been raising the issues before the central government for long but nobody paid heed. Our major demand is a cut in fuel prices,” he said.
