Berhampur: Two special squads were formed Thursday to trace the absconding doctor in the murder case of HDFC bank agent Bishnu Prasad Gouda over a triangular love affair involving a nurse Thursday.
Meanwhile, police detained two persons including the nurse and interrogated the doctor’s wife, son and another relative in the case.
The action follows after the decomposed body of Gouda, who was allegedly murdered by Dr Hrushikesh Tripathy over a suspected love triangle, was exhumed 25 days after it was buried in the backyard of a house in Badagumula near Berhampur, Wednesday. Preliminary inquires suggested that Gouda was murdered by the doctor over the issue
Two cars and bike had been seized in this connection while the sweeper Gangadhar Behera of Lodapada area was produced in the court Thursday. Police also interrogated other staff of the doctor’s nursing home in the case. The deceased’s wife Narmada Goud claimed that her husband was kidnapped over a love affair
The deceased hails from Bania village. Police said, Gouda had gone missing since August 18.
According to reports, the doctor called Gouda to his Gayatri Clinic on some pretext where he allegedly killed him. Later, he called his helper Gangadhar Behera to hide the body. The two then took the body in a car and buried it at the backyard of Dr Tripathy’s house. They even built a septic tank over the spot to mislead the police.
Gouda’s family members grew suspicious after the former did not return home and remained incommunicado. A missing complaint was lodged at the Baidyanathpur and Khallikote police stations. The family had also conveyed their concern to the District Collector.
Following the complaint, a special team was formed on the orders of the SP. During the probe, police detained Behera who spilled the beans during interrogations. Based on his revelation, police unearthed the body. The accused doctor remained at large till filing of this report.
