Nilagiri: A man allegedly slit his throat and jumped into a well at Bandha Sahi village near Rajberhampur in Balasore district Thursday morning.
According to reports, Gourahari Singh (46) picked up a blade and slit his throat following which he sustained grievous injuries. Then he jumped into a well in the backyard of his house.
On being informed, police, fire service and ODRAF team rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation.
Water was being pumped out of the well to rescue the man till the filing of this report.
