Bhubaneswar: The post-mortem of Manipur youth L Poumai (22), who was found dead on the premises of an OAS officer’s residence in Unit VI here December 2, was conducted again in front of a magistrate in Cuttack Friday.
Poumai’s post-mortem was conducted again after his family members said they were not satisfied by the autopsy report given by the doctors of Capital Hospital here.
“Poumai’s post-mortem was conducted again on Friday. And we are waiting for the report,” Bhubaneswar DCP Satyabrata Bhoi told Orissa POST.
Sources said Poumai’s body will be flown back to Manipur via Kolkata December 11 evening.
Earlier, SDPO of Imphal West district, A Ghanashyam Sharma, met twin-city Police Commissioner Dr Rajendra Prasad Sharma December 10 and discussed the death case of Poumai, a resident of Senapati district in Manipur, that was initially believed to be suicide.
Ghanashyam told journalists that he was here to coordinate with the commissionerate police in the investigations and to give them information related to the case. Poumai’s elder brother, Angelus, and Guwahati High Court lawyer Ashipri Zho also met the police commissioner along with Ghanashyam.
“We told the police commissioner that we are not happy with their investigation. We also told him that we are not satisfied with Poumai’s post-mortem report,” Zho said.
