Bhubaneswar: A few days ahead of the completion of two years of his fourth term, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Thursday asked all the ministers to submit action taken report (ATR) on promises made on the BJD election manifesto-2014.
The second year of fourth term of BJD government is going to be completed May 21. In his letters to the ministers, Patnaik said, “You may remember, while fighting for the general election 2014, we have put our election manifesto before the public. Due to our futuristic proposals promised in the manifesto, people have voted us and we have come to power for fourth time.”
In the first meeting of council of ministers, it was decided to fulfil all the promises made in the manifesto, Patnaik said, adding, “By taking this historic decision, we have created an example for other state governments and also for the political parties in the country.”
“I had reviewed the progress made by each department on execution of the poll promises May 21 last year and suggested a regular review the manifesto proposals. I had also advised the officials to prepare action plan with time frame for each proposal,” the CM said.
Stating that ‘my government believes in action not in slogans’, Patnaik said, he would start reviewing the action taken by each department on fulfillment of poll promises beginning May 21. The ministers have been asked to inform the CM about achievements and steps taken on fulfillment of promises within two weeks.
“Accountability and fulfillment of promises assured to over four crore people of the state is the prime responsibility of our government. To maintain the trust of the people on our government, we have to materialise the party’s promises made during the elections without any delay,” he added.
