Buguda: The heartwrenching story of a 15-year-old tribal girl Janha has come to the fore as she has been taking responsibility of three siblings single-handedly at Karanjasahi tribal village under Karasingi panchayat under this block of Ganjam district. As per reports, when Janha’s mother died a year ago, her father Pramod Dalabehera left the house leaving behind their four minor children. After becoming an orphan, Janha, unfortunately, had to stop her studies at the age of 15 and turned a labourer for the survival of her two sisters Tara (12) and Banita (10), and brother Om Prakash (6). She has strong desire to restart her studies but the weight of responsibilities that have fallen on her shoulders is not allowing her to follow her will. Whatever she earns by working as a daily labourer is spent arranging food for the survival of her siblings. They don’t even have a proper house to reside in. The walls are dilapidated and may collapse at any moment, forcing the four children to take shelter on the verandah of their house. Despite their pathetic condition, no government aid has come in their way. If the administration extends its helping hands towards these small children, their future will be secured, said some local intelligentsia.
