Cuttack: Morning Club defeated SAI-STC by a solitary goal in a match of the FAO Ist Division League at the Barabati Stadium here Wednesday.
In spite of a narrow scoreline, it was hard-fought encounter with both sides creating numerous scoring opportunities. However, Babula Gurla got the all-important goal in the 14th minute of the game to ensure victory for Morning Club.

Suraj-Sibu seals title
The duo of Suraj Kanungo and Sibu Jena emerged champions in the Carrom tournament organsed by Barabati Carrom Academy after beating Manoj Mukhi and Sagar Choudhury pair 25-6, 20-25, 25-5 in the final here Wednesday.
Earlier in the semifinals Sagar and Manoj pair had defeated Sabir Ali and Amit Ranjan Das 25-6, 25-4 and Sibu and Suraj had beaten Sushant Moharana and Sisir Lenka 25-6, 25-12 respectively.
TT tourney
Young Generation Table Tennis Association (YGTTA) under the aegis of Orissa State Table Tennis Association will organise the All Orissa Open Ranking Table Tennis Championship at the Sachin Tendulkar Indoor Hall, Barabati Stadium here August 26-28.
The tournament will be played under 10 categories. On the basis of the performances in the tournament, players will be selected for different national level competitions.
YGTTA will also organise the Inter-School Table Tennis Championship, August 28-29. The tournament will be played under two categories. All the schools of Orissa are eligible to participate in the tournament. Interested schools should contact YGTTA office immediately.
