Baliguda: Tension erupted at Baliguda sub-divisional hospital in Kandhamal district after death of a newborn baby boy due to alleged medical negligence Tuesday evening.
According to reports, Madhuri, wife of Lochan Patra of Rampur village in Kalahandi district gave birth to a baby boy in the hospital Monday. The newborn baby and his mother were stable after the delivery and they were kept together. Later, the baby’s body temperature started rising following which his parents immediately informed the doctors. However, to their utter shock, the doctors didn’t attend the fever-stricken baby, alleged the deceased baby’s parents.
Left without treatment, the baby boy breathed last Tuesday. After tension prevailed in the hospital, the sub-divisional hospital-in-charge Dr. Umashankar Mishra rushed to the spot, pacified the irked parents and restored normalcy.
