Bhubaneswar: More than 3.09 crore voters have so far been found eligible for inclusion in state’s final electoral rolls following the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR), with the figure likely to rise further as hearings on claims and objections continue, the Chief Electoral Officer’s office said Wednesday.
The SIR has entered its final phase, with the deadline for filing claims and objections for registration and corrections closed Wednesday.
The final decision on all claims and objections, along with completion of the notice process, will be made by September 17, while the final electoral rolls will be published September 21.
According to the CEO’s office, notices were issued to 58,36,430 voters, of whom 58,36,374 have been successfully served notices.
Hearings of voters who received notices have been completed, and 54,21,872 names have so far been retained in the electoral rolls.
