Bhubaneswar, March 19: The state government plans to separate Plus II from degree colleges in the state from the 2015-16 academic year, higher education minister Pradeep Kumar Panigrahi told the Assembly Thursday.
A meeting in this regard was held under the chairmanship of the development commissioner in January, the minister said.
“We will also conduct an inter-department meeting between the school & mass education department and higher education department in this regard,” he said.
However, the separation will take time as the government needs to develop infrastructure, Panigrahi said in reply to a question of Anshuman Mohanty.
“For developing infrastructure in this regard the government spent `53 crore in 2013-14 and `95 crore in 2014-15. A provision of `95 crore has also been made for 2015-16,” the minister told the Assembly.
