Bhubaneswar: Sub-inspectors (SIs) will be in charge of 216 police outposts in Odisha according to a latest proposal. The proposal has been approved by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
Currently the assistant sub-inspectors (ASIs) are in charge of the outposts.
Sub-inspectors will be appointed in various police departments run by the Commissionerate of Police and the District Police and Railway Police. Their skills in sub-inspectors’ training and crime research are expected to be particularly helpful in crime control at the outpost level.
