Bhadrak: In a bizarre incident, people lay the body of a 7-year-old boy in a temple and performed rituals with a hope of bringing him back to life at Purusottampur under Nayakanidiha police limits in Bhadrak district Saturday. Shiba Sila, son of Subash Siala, was stung by an insect.
His condition got critical and he was rushed to Basudevpur CHC but doctors declared him brought dead. However, his family members refused to believe the doctors and took the body to the Garudeswar temple at Karanjaadia for the rituals.
Some people dismissed the unusual act as sheer superstition, but many still pinned their hopes on rituals to bring the dead back to life, it was learnt.
