Dhenkanal: In a maiden move, the state government has decided to provide a financial assistance of Rs 19 lakh for the celebration of Gajalaxmi Puja in Dhenkanal district.
According to sources, altogether 38 medhas (tableaux) in Dhenkanal district will receive financial assistance from the Odia Language, Literature & Culture department of the state government.
Each medha will be provided Rs 50,000, amounting to a total grant of Rs 19 lakh.

This decision aims to encourage and support the traditional and cultural heritage of Gajalaxmi Puja in Dhenkanal.
