Bargarh: Mystery shrouded the death of a girl while the condition of her elder sister remained critical after they were found hanging from a ceiling fan of their bedroom late Monday night.
Hearing their noise, family members broke open the door and rushed the two to the district headquarters hospital. Unfortunately, the doctors declared the younger girl brought dead upon arrival while the elder sister’s condition was serious while the filing of this report.
While nothing has been ascertained as of now, the incident has spread shockwaves in the area.
The heartrending incident was reported from Nigamananda Vihar in Bargarh municipal area. The two sisters were the deceased Priyanka Sharma (21) and her elder sister Guddia Sharma.
According to police, the two girls originally hailed from Bihar. The family had settled here 20 years back after their father late Ram Narayan Sharma, left his native and came to Bargarh in search of work. After his death, the two girls were living with their widowed mother and three brothers.
As usual, after dinner, all the family members went to their respective rooms to sleep. The two sisters also retired to their room. At mid-night, the family members woke up hearing the scream of the two girls. They broke open the room and found the two hanging from the ceiling fan.
While it is yet to be ascertained if the sisters took such an extreme step by themselves or where they were hanged by someone else to mislead the police, the Bargarh town police has started an investigation in this connection.
Taking the matter seriously, the police probed the case in all angles.
