Bhatli: A 57 years old woman, who suffered burn injuries after her saree caught fire from cooking gas Tuesday morning at her house at Kushanpur village under Bhatli police limits of Bargarh district, succumbed to her injuries at Bargarh district headquarters hospital (DHH), where she was undergoing treatment.
The deceased has been identified as Dolabati Dandasena.
Family sources said, Dolabati was making tea on the gas stove Tuesday morning. However, she somehow fell down leading to her saree catching fire. Noticing smoke coming out of her house, neighbours rushed to her place, rescued her and admitted her to Bargarh DHH.
The doctors treating her said 90 per cent of her body was burnt in the mishap.
Despite best efforts of the doctors, she passed away while still undergoing treatment at the DHH.
Registering an unnatural death case, police have launched a probe into the incident.
