Lima: Peru sealed the last berth available for the football World Cup in Russia with a 2-0 win over New Zealand here, Wednesday. This is the first time they will be playing in the main draw of the event since 1982. Goals by Jefferson Farfan and Christian Ramos had the country celebrating immediately after the referee blew the long whistle. Farfan struck in the 27th minute and Ramos scored in the 65th to give ‘Los Incas’ their fifth overall World Cup finals appearance. “It’s a big emotion, beyond making history,” tearful Peru midfielder Christian Cueva said. “It’s a child’s dream which has now turned into reality.”
