Balasore: Special POCSO Court Judge here, Ranjan Kumar Sutar convicted Monday a rape accused and sentenced him to 10 years rigorous imprisonment and also slapped a fine of `4,000.
The convict Anil Kumar Patra was arrested in 2017 after an FIR was lodged against him for raping a minor girl. While pronouncing the verdict, the judge ordered that if Patra fails to pay the fine, he will have to undergo an additional two years in prison.
The court after examining 13 witnesses and 18 exhibits pronounced the judgment, Special Public Prosecutor Pranab Panda said.
