Baripada: A waterfall approximately 1,115 feet in height has been found inside the dense Similipal forest. It is five kilometres away from Subarnamanjari village near Basipitha in Mayurbhanj district and had remained inaccessible for a long time, members of the ‘Mayurbhanj Mirror’ organisation informed Monday.
The waterfall which is known as ‘Subarnamanjari’ is indeed a beautiful sight to behold. Members of ‘Mayurbhanj Mirror’ also stated that the waterfall is just one of the many undiscovered places that exist in the Similipal forest range. They informed us that they will continue to look for such hidden natural treasures in an effort to find attractive sightseeing spots for visitors to the district. The members of the organisation also said that currently, only four levels of the waterfall are visible even though it is a six-story structure. They said that they discovered the waterfall after trekking over 18km of forest path. Kumaresh Nayak, Jayaprakash Singh, Sanat Barik, Ranjit Palei, Lokeswar Bhanja, Biswajit Marndi, and Kailash Singh of Subarnamanjari village were involved in the trek to locate the waterfall. They pointed out that if a proper road is developed to the waterfall, it will attract a huge number of tourists.
