Kendrapara: In a major crackdown, police have arrested four persons, including three dacoits, and recovered 11kg gold, 5kg silver, Rs 9.45 lakh in cash, and a country-made gun from their possession.
DIG (Central Range) Satyajit Naik said the arrested are aged between 22 and 32 years. Two of them belong to Khurda district, while one each is from Cuttack and Nayagarh.
According to the FIR lodged August 24 by 50-year-old Arundhuti Sahu of Sarapari village under Jankia police limits, eight unidentified culprits wearing helmets stormed her jewellery shop, Sai Sonu Alankar, at Chhanagiri.
The gang hurled bombs, threatened staff at gunpoint, assaulted them, and decamped with over 11 kg of gold and 5 kg of silver ornaments, collectively valued at more than Rs 11 crore.

Based on her complaint, Jankia police registered a case under Section 310(2) BNS, Sections 25/27 of the Arms Act, and Section 5 of the Explosives Substances Act, and launched an investigation.
The probe was carried out under the direct supervision of DIG Naik, Khordha SP Vivekanand Sharma, and Additional SP Srinibas. With support from Balugaon, Banapur, and Tangi police, raids were conducted at different hideouts, leading to the arrest of four accused and recovery of the stolen ornaments.
