Nayagarh: A 12-hour bandh was called in Nayagarh town Tuesday from 6 am to 6 pm, demanding the establishment of a medical college in the district.
Traders in Nayagarh closed their shops and business establishments in support of the bandh. Vehicular movement “was not disrupted” as HSE and Plus II examinations are underway, a source said.
The source added that the bandh call was given by the ‘Jai Nayagarh Foundation’. The demand to set up a medical college in the district has been pending for more than a decade.
