Bhubaneswar: A 12-year-old boy was found hanging from the ceiling fan of his room at Sriram Nagar in Salia Sahi area under Nayapalli police limits.
The victim was identified as Bapuji Mallick, son of Trilochan Mallick who works at a private education institute at Patia.
The boy hanged himself with a towel from the fan by locking the door from inside when his family members were away.
His elder sister found the door closed and informed her father who immediately reached home.
A shocked Trilochan rushed him to Capital Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
Sources claimed Bapuji’s mother, before leaving for market, had allegedly rebuked him for watching TV by neglecting his studies.
