Bhubaneswar: Governor SC Jamir Friday announced the State Government will add 140 more ambulances under “Emergency Medical Ambulance Service”.
Highlighting the achievements of state government in health sector he said the Orissa State Medical Services Corporation has been constituted to distribute free medicines through a network of drug distribution centres at Government facilities.
“The Orissa State Treatment Fund has been made operational to provide medical aid up to Rs 3 lakh for patients suffering from critical ailments,” he said adding, “Biju Krushak Kalyan Yojana is being implemented in the state providing free health insurance coverage up to Rs 1 lakh to five members of a farmer family and has covered nearly 55 lakh farmer families.
The state government has also decided to start medical colleges at Puri, Baripada, Balasore, Koraput and Bolangir.PNN
