Bhubaneswar: In a move aimed at enhancing specialist healthcare services and strengthening medical education in Odisha, the Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) department Thursday approved 152 new faculty and senior resident posts in super-speciality departments across government medical colleges and hospitals in the state.
The newly sanctioned posts are of professors, associate professors, assistant professors and senior residents in various super-speciality disciplines.
The approved positions will be distributed among several government medical institutions like Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar, Saheed Laxman Nayak Medical College and Hospital in Koraput, Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital in Baripada, Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital in Balangir, Fakir Mohan Medical College and Hospital in Baleshwar, MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Brahmapur, VIMSAR in Burla, SCB Medical College and Hospital in Kataka and Shree Jagannath Medical College and Hospital in Puri.
H&FW Minister Mukesh Mahaling said the approval of 152 posts reflects the state government’s commitment to improving healthcare under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
