1,913 new COVID-19 cases reported in Odisha, 15 more fatalities take death toll to 1,196

Bhubaneswar: A total of 1,913 new cases of COVID-19 infections were reported from the state in the last 24 hours, the I&PR Department, Government of Odisha said in a tweet Thursday. Among the new COVID-19 patients 1,109 were in quarantine while 804 persons contracted the disease after coming in contact with infected persons. This is the third successive day when Odisha has reported less than 2,000 cases.

In a separate tweet the Health and Family Welfare Department (H&FW) reported 15 new fatalities taking the death toll in Odisha to 1,196. Most of these patients were suffering from other comorbidities including diabetes, hypertension, heart and kidney ailments.

District wise new infections: Khurda (254), Cuttack (150), Angul (106), Jagatsinghpur and Sundargarh (99 each),Mayurbhanj (92), Kalahandi (82), Keonjhar (74), Balasore (73), Jajpur (72), Bargarh, Nuapada and Bolangir (63 each), Puri (55) Koraput (54), Kendrapara (51), Sambalpur (50), Dhenkanal, Kandhamal and Jharsuguda (48 each), Bhadrak (46), Nabarangpur (41), Nayagarh (33), Ganjam (28), Sonepur (20), Malkangiri (16), Rayagada (14), Boudh (12), Deogarh (five), Gajapati (four),

Fifty new positive COVID-19 cases were also reported from the state pool.

With the new infections, the total number of active cases in Odisha stands at 19,932. So far 2,54913 patients have recovered from the disease in the state.
