Balasore: Two female elephants were found dead inside the Kuladiha sanctuary under Nilagiri forest range in Balasore district Tuesday. Forest officials buried the carcasses after conducting post-mortem. However, causes of their deaths are not clear.
The age of both the animals is said to be over 40 years. Forest officials while conducting patrol in Chenkamara forest found the two pachyderms dead. Regional conservator of forest Amitabh Bramha, forest ranger Laxman Kumar Pradhan and VAS Tapan Kumar Dwivedy visited the spot.
The causes of the animals’ deaths will be known after the post-mortem reports are available, said the ranger.
