Nabarangpur: In a tragic incident, two minor boys of a family drowned in a quarry while another was rescued in a critical condition while they had gone to take bath Sunday.
The heart-wrenching incident was reported from Chirma village under Kashaguda block of Nabarangpur district. The critical boy was rescued and hospitalised.
The deceased have been identified as Nitesh Bisoyi (6) and Tushar Bisoyi (14). The critical boy has been identified as Shiva Bisoyi (8). The victims are cousins in relation, it was learnt.
The mishap took place when the trio was bathing in a pit filed with water in murram quarry near the village. The three slipped into deep water and drowned. They were rescued by villagers and rushed to the Nabarangpur district headquarters hospital (DHH).
However, doctors declared Nitesh and Tushar brought dead upon arrival. The incident spread a pall of gloom in the village. The condition of Shiva remained critical till the filing of this report.
