2 more aides of Tito held

Kendrapara: The Special Task Force (STF), of Crime Branch Bhubaneswar, Tuesday arrested two close aides of gangster Tito alias Sayed Ushman Ali, and produced them in the JMFC court of Kujang in Jagatsinghpur district.

The two are Dipti Ranjan Dash alias Lulu of SIPI Mukundapur in Jagatsinghpur and Chitaranjan Sahoo alias Habula of Saradola village.

The STF said it seized incriminating documents, a pistol with 12 live cartridges, an Audi car worth Rs 32 lakh, another car and Rs 64,250 in cash during the search of Dipti’s houses in Jagatsinghpur and Bhubaneswar Sunday.

The STF had conducted raids at Jagatsinghpur-based Brundaban Guest House, Nirmala Residency and also at the Patia flat of Dipti.

STF said Dipti was a henchman of Tito, and used to operate the gangster’s crime syndicate in Jagatsinghpur. Chitaranjan was also a close associate of Tito and was involved in his transport business.

The two were booked under Sections 387, 506, 120-B, 34 of IPC and 25 and 27 of the Arms Act and were remanded to custody by court.

During the interrogation of Dipti and Chitaranjan, the STF got information on Tito’s crime network and the officials involved in it.

The STF Tuesday filed a petition before the JMFC court of Kujang to take Dipti on five days of remand for further questioning.
