Bhubaneswar, July 16: The state government has arranged a visit for a group of aboriginal tribals to watch Nabakalebara car festival, July 18.
The 20-member group comprises students and others belonging to aborigine tribes such as Lodha and Khadia Mankadias of Mayurbhanj and Bonda and Didai from Malkangiri.
The group arrived in Bhubaneswar Thursday and met Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the Secretariat in the afternoon in the presence of Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Sudam Marndi and Textile Minister Snehangini Chhuria. They were later taken to the state Assembly, planetarium, Regional Museum of Natural History and Lingraj temple as part of their visit. The officials said the group was also taken to INOX for a movie show.
The group will be taken to Konark Friday and Puri the next day to witness the Nabakalebara Rath Yatra.
