Harry Potter has influenced the lives of several children of 21st century. The first book was written by Joanne Rowling—popularly known as JK Rowling, 20 years back, June 26, 1997. The popular series has now completed 20 years of existence. As the wizard celebrates its anniversary, Orissa POST talks to the fans of Harry Potter across the city to bring you their reactions. “I watched Harry Porter movie on TV at the age of 13. I loved it instantly. I started reading the book after watching the film. I admire the friendship between the main characters—Harry potter (played by Daniel Radcliffe) and his two friends Harmione Granger and
Ron Weasley (played by Emma Watson and Rupert Grint respectively.),” a local, Manish Agrawal said. “I love the wizard life as described in the book and films. The magic ministry, the difference be
tween the mugger and wizard, the Quidditch match—all of these had made my childhood exciting,” Priyanka Nath, another local said. The Harry Potter films had special moments—the first interaction between Harry Potter Ron
and Harmoine in Hogwarts train, or the main villain of the series Lord Voldemort’s entry scene in the last stage of the first film. “The Harry Potter films are my all time best childhood films. I love the character of Harry, Hermoine, Severus Snape, and professor Dumbbelldore. The Snape’s character was the most mysterious of all because he was projected as a villain,” Lav Khotari, a young resident of the city claimed. “Harry Potter inspired me to live a wizard life during my childhood days. I remember how we used to be dressed as film characters and used to spell the magical words such as Wingardium Laviosa, Expecto Patronum, Lumos Maxima, Alohomora , Imperi,” Khotari added.
