Nabarangpur: At least 22 persons from eight families have fallen ill after eating wild mushrooms in Chikili village under Dabugaon block in the district Friday night.
At least seven children have been admitted to Dabugaon Community Health Centre. Their condition is stated to be stable.
According to reports, the families collected a particular wild mushroom which is locally called ‘Duma Chhatu’ from a nearby forest and cooked mushroom curry for dinner.
After having the dinner, the family members complained of vomiting and loose motion.
At least twelve people Thursday suffered food poisoning after eating wild mushrooms in Kundriguda of Koraput district.
