Chhatarpur: Police in Chhatrapur have solved the murder of a 28-year-old youth within 24 hours of case registration and arrested three people in connection with the crime.
The victim, R. Raja Rao of Aruguni village, was allegedly attacked with a sword and sticks near Rikapalli Gate under Chhatrapur police limits. Police seized a mobile phone, a sword and two sticks from the accused.
Addressing a press conference, Chhatrapur SDPO Chandan Kumar Ghadai and Inspector-In-Charge Sabyasachi Malla said the killing stemmed from previous enmity. The accused were identified as Chandan Raut, 27, and his brother Sunil Raut, 22, both of Debinagar Sahi in Chhatrapur town, and their associate Ashish Behera, 22, of Byareka Sahi.
Police said earlier disputes, including quarrels over a volleyball game, had led to tension between the victim and the accused. Further investigation is underway.
