Mohana: Six persons were injured, including three critically, after they came under attack by a swarm of tiger bees near Chhatabhari village under Mohana police limits in Gajapati district, Sunday.
Sources said four members of a family who were travelling in a car from Berhampur to Mohana stopped near Chhatabhari village to answer a call of nature. When they came out of the vehicle after parking it under a tree, a swarm of honey bees suddenly attacked them. They ran back into the car for cover.
However, the bees followed them into the vehicle and stung all those present inside. The angry bees didn’t even spare some passersby who too received injuries in the attack. All the injured persons were rescued and rushed to Mohana hospital for treatment.
Later as the condition of three persons, who were critically injured, deteriorated they were shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital, said authorities at Mohana hospital. Their treatment was on when reports last came in.
