Chandikhole: Police Sunday arrested three youths for posting the photographs of Amar Prasad Satapathy, the BJD chief whip and Barchana MLA and BJP leader Simantini Jena on a social networking site and making objectionable remarks against them.
The accused were identified as Pabitra Samal of Bilikana village and Prasanna Baliarsingh of Batipada village under Barchana police limits, Biswajit Singh of Manduka village under Balichandrapur police limits. Later, they were produced in court.
Jajpur SDPO Kedarnath Sahu visited Barchana police station and launched a probe into the incident.
Sources said Satapathy and Jena had attended a post funeral ceremony of a person in Siha village under Barchana Assembly segment in Jajpur district. Family members welcomed the two leaders. They were offered seats at the same place in their house.
However, some youths attending the function clicked the photographs of the two leaders seated in the function. While Samal posted the photograph on Facebook and gave objectionable remarks against the two leaders some others made objectionable remarks against the two. Taking offence, Jena lodged a complaint in the Barchana police station Saturday. PNN
