3 inter-state dacoits arrested in Bolangir

Bolangir: Acting on a tip-off, Town police arrested three inter-state dacoits while they were planning a major bank heist at Madangudia Bagicha in this town late Wednesday night.

Three other gang members managed to escape when a team of Town police raided the place during their routine night patrolling. The accused were identified as Moti Ur Sheikh (30), Kamrud Jamala (28) alias Mithun and Syed Sheikh alias Sahid of Jharkhand.

Police seized saw blades, crowbars, hammers, screw drivers and tongs from their possession. This was stated here by SDPO Khira Sagar Nayak to the media at a press meet organised  at the Town police station here Thursday.

They were taken for interrogation where they admitted to be planning for a dacoity at Central Bank in the town.  The accused persons are history-sheeters and their names figure in various cases of bank dacoits and theft of gold and cash worth several crore of rupees in Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand as well as in the state.
