Bhubaneswar: The state government Friday handed appointment letters to 418 candidates who successfully cleared the Orissa Civil Service Examination, 2011.
The appointment letters were distributed during a seminar on ‘public service delivery’ organised by the general administration (GA) department here. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik graced the occasion as the chief guest.
Congratulating the newly recruited officers, Patnaik said, “The government is taking up a number of developmental measures through various schemes. It is extremely necessary to see that the schemes are implemented efficiently with dedication so that the desired outcomes are received and the livelihoods of our people improve. It is equally important to enforce the rule of law impartially.”
Patnaik further said it is the duty of all government servants to take all possible measures to see that the citizens get their entitlements without any delay or harassment. The state government has notified 324 public services under the Orissa Rights to Public Service Delivery Act, he added.
Tourism minister Ashok Panda, Bhubaneswar mayor AN Jena, the local MP and MLAs, Chief Secretary AP Padhi and other senior officials were among those who attended the seminar.
