6 more PLFI rebels arrested

Kuanrmunda: After the Saturday arrest of seven members of the outlawed People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI), Biramitrapur and Kuanrmunda police Monday morning arrested more six members of the outfit and produced them in a court.

The arrested PLFI members have been identified as Jadumani Patra (57) of Sundarabasti in Barbil of Keonjhar district, Sandeep Eka alias Mirinda (22) of Kadobahal under Raeboga police limits in Sundargarh district, Butra Khadia alias Arun (20) of Jamabahal village, Suraj Sahoo of Gandhi market area under Biramitrapur police limits, Kalu Thakur alias Bishal (19) of Sunday market area and Riba Khakha alias Lakra (50) of Gibira village under Kuanrmunda police limits.

Jadumani is a retired army employee and he had been providing food, shelter, and training of how to operate arms and ammunitions to the PLFI members, according to police.

The other arrested members had been involved in several extortion cases, it was learnt.

A team led by Biramitrapur police station IIC Kailash Chandra Acharya and Kuanrmunda assistant sub-inspector Manoj Kumar Naik conducted the raids and made the arrests.

Biramitrapur sub-divisional police officer informed that the police would intensify the raids in coming days and the outfit would be fully wiped out. PNN
