65 year old man, daughter-in-law get electrocuted to death in Rayagada, here's how

Rayagada: In a shocking incident, an elderly man and his daughter-in-law were electrocuted at Pangapanda village under Bisamkatak block in Rayagada district Friday night.

The deceased have been identified as Dahini Mandangi (65) and his daughter-in-law Sumitra Mandangi (24) of Pangapanda village.

According to a source, a plugged-in live wire was hanging from the door of Dahini’s house. It was when Dahini was moving around the house that he accidentally came in contact with the live wire and suffered the shock. Hearing his cry, Sumitra tried to rescue his father-in-law but in the process also got electrocuted.

Sensing something wrong, neighbours came running to Dahini’s house and  unplugged the live wire and then took both the victims to a nearby hospital.

However, they breathed their last while undergoing treatment.

As the shocking news reached the village, a pall of gloom enveloped the entire village.
